Do you guys notice this too, or am I just being weird? I honestly don't know what can be done about this (which is why this isn't in suggestions), but I'd like to hear other opinions. That leaves the tanky specials to me, which is fine, but the main reason I dislike playing this class is that I keep feeling stepped on by the driller. Even ignoring that, their flamethrower takes out hordes quickly enough that it feels like I am wasting bullets. The only difference being that driller has a short range, meaning they move to the front and are suddenly in the way. Both of them specialize in high-dps crowd control.
I feel an enormous conflict between gunner and driller. I love saving lives with shields, ziplines are super useful, and the weapons are a blast to use. It's not that I find the class unenjoyable to play. He was the last one to hit max level back before promotions and he is the only one left in bronze tier (trailing by 3 promotions at one point), where everyone else is silver. Drill straight down to your objective or build an intricate network of paths to explore your surroundings - the choice is yours.So with my just over 400 hours sunk into the game, I have to say that gunner is by far my least favorite class. There is no set path so you can complete your mission your way. Destroy everything around you to reach your goal. Mow through enemies as the Gunner, scout ahead and light up the caves as the Scout, chew through solid rock as the Driller, or support the team with defensive structures and turrets as the Engineer.
